Hey y'all!
At Mossy Grove, we take pride in offering more than just food; we provide an experience deeply rooted in southern culinary traditions. Our commitment to history, hospitality, and delicious meals ensures that every visit is a journey through time and taste.

How it started...
Mossy Grove School was established in 1856 when Abraham and Chasity Black deeded land to school trustees. The original one-room schoolhouse was later expanded in 1917 with a dining room and a stage. A spring nearby supplied the school with water. The school closed in 1920 due to county consolidation and was later used as a community center for church services, township meetings, and social events. In the 1930s, the property reverted to the original estate and became a private home until 1978, when it was nearly torn down. Thanks to the efforts of the Bradley family and two local schoolteachers, the building was saved and carefully restored. Today, it operates as Mossy Grove Schoolhouse Restaurant, offering a historic Southern setting, delicious food, and a glimpse into Pike County’s past. It stands as a proud symbol of community preservation and Southern hospitality.
